HOW PLASTIC POLLUTION IS AFFECTING US

It is not a secret that new generations are worried about climate change, animals, politics, war, etc. New generations are worried about the entire world.

They are concerned because the actions of our past generations have affected our present in every way.

In our oceans we have seen a big problem that has become a huge crisis for the whole world. Billions of pounds of plastic can be found in the ocean surfaces. At current rates plastic is expected to outweigh all the fish in the sea by 2050.

Thousands of seabirds and sea turtles, seals and other marine animals are killed each year after ingesting plastic or getting entangled in it.

We are surrounded by plastic. We get plastic all time in any grocery store and it is why we need to do something about it. It is affecting us even when we do not know it.

Many of us love to eat sea food, well let me tell you something, our sea food can be contaminated because of pollution.

According to the Center for Biological Diversity, “In the first decade of this century, we made more plastic in history up to the year 2000. And every year, billions of pounds of more plastic end up in the world’s oceans- from the equator to the poles, from Arctic ice sheets to the sea floor. Not one square mile of surface ocean anywhere on earth is free of plastic pollution”.

We need and we have to think about this problem because this issue needs an urgent action. We need to protect our sea life and we need to keep our oceans clean for us and for our future generations.
